Independent Study: We want every student to attend school every day, but we understand that sometimes life and family commitments require students to miss school.

When families have a planned trip or absence, parents may request Independent Study. Independent Study allows students to complete schoolwork while they are away so they can receive credit for their work and avoid being marked absent for the approved Independent Study period.

In order for teachers to prepare appropriate assignments and materials, families must provide reasonable advance notice. We ask that Independent Study requests be submitted at least two weeks prior to the planned absence. This allows our teachers adequate time to prepare meaningful work for your child while they are away.
